Trauma MIC team attend NHS Health and Care Innovation EXPO

The Trauma Management MIC team were part of the NIHR stand at this year’s NHS Health and Care Innovation EXPO. The event was held at Manchester Central on September 5th and 6th.  The team answered questions from industry, academics, clinicians and the public about the support NIHR, and particularly the Trauma MIC, can provide for clinical research and medical device product development.

On Wednesday 5th September, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department of Health Lord O’Shaughnessy came to the stand and met three representatives of NIHR Infrastructure, including Jeff Faint, NIHR Trauma Management MedTech Research Coordinator. Lord O’Shaughnessy was able to gain a greater understanding of the role played by the NIHR in NHS Innovation, and the growing role of teams such as the Trauma MIC in ensuring product development takes place in a safe, regulated and professional manner. The stand ‎was well received and engaged a lot of interest.
