Ms Taran Samra

Project Research Officer

Taran graduated from BCU in 2013 with a BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic Radiography. After working clinically for three years at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire,  in 2017 Taran joined the Radiotherapy Trials department at QEHB. She led on a number of Urology & Colo-rectal trials, working with patients and clinicians to deliver studies from a clinical aspect. Taran gained valuable experience in trial management from set-up to delivery ensuring high levels of patient care were met throughout.

Taran then moved into a role delivering IT based training sessions for QEHB and was involved in a large project implementing QEHB’s in-house electronic prescribing system across Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, Solihull Hospital and Good Hope Hospital. The role involved training staff across all divisions.

In May 2023, Taran joined NIHR Trauma MIC as a Project Research Officer, utilising her training and research background to help companies develop their medical devices and technology.
