Programme Manager

Olivia Brookes is the Programme Manager for the Trauma Management MedTech Co-operative (NIHR TMMIC). The NIHR TMMIC brings together patients, clinicians, researchers, commissioners and industry to facilitate medical devices research around the themes of immediate response to injury, in-hospital stabilisation, tissue repair, re-enablement and rehabilitation.

Olivia’s role specially involves co-coordinating and providing management support to the programme, specifically to the Director of the NIHR TMMIC, its Operations Group, Executive Board and other sub groups as they evolve. As Programme Manager Olivia is responsible for ensuring the NIHR TMMIC achieves their objectives and ensuring that the required reporting processes are adhered to. Olivia also oversees the development and submission of high quality grant applications and research protocols in collaboration with research theme leads and investigators.

Olivia has a basic science background with a BSc in Biomedical Science and an MSc in Biomedical Science specialising in Haematology. She joined the Research, Development and Innovation department at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust in October 2014 and has built a strong knowledge of academic and NHS research management processes. Olivia successfully managed the PEARL Project (NIHR HS&DR funded) before moving into this role.
